“Teen Wolf” star Samira Wiley will be returning to the CBS drama series for its seventh season.
The news came in an official blog post on the network’s website, and it came as a surprise to many fans.
“We’re so excited to welcome Samira back to the Teen Wolf family,” the show’s showrunners said in the post.
“As a fan, I’ve known Samira for years, and this is a natural progression for her character.
Samira will be playing a part in season 7 and beyond, and we can’t wait to get back to you on the Teen Wars and the world of the Vampire Diapers.”
The post also revealed that the cast will be reuniting to play their roles in a spinoff, titled “Grey’s.”
It’s not clear what role the spinoff will take on, but the series will have a focus on Samira’s role as a vampire.
“Greys” stars Samira and Matthew Perry.
The two previously starred on the CW’s “Supernatural” and the ABC series “The Vampire Chronicles.”
“Grey” was renewed for a fourth season in 2017.
“Teen Wars” star Dominic Purcell is returning to “Grey,” along with “Supergirl” alum and “Vampire Diaries” creator Chris Barresi.
“Superman” alum Sarah Hyland and “The Flash” alum Michaela Watkins will be joining “Teen Titans Go!” alum Willa Holland, who will return to her role as Amanda Waller.
“The Originals” alum Michelle Pfeiffer will be starring in the spin-off, while “Arrow” alum Emily Bett Rickards will play Iris West, a former teen vampire.
The spinoff is expected to premiere in 2019.
